It’s no secret that dementia is one of the most difficult conditions to deal with. An Alzheimer’s (or any other memory-related cognitive disease) diagnosis carries with it an expectation of frustration & hardship, and although people are always working on ways to make living with this disease easier, there’s still no cure. There is, however, a growing arsenal of tools, techniques, & resources for managing memory problems & diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

At Village Park, one of the tools we use to make Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other memory-loss conditions more manageable is memory care. Through 24/7 management, assistive accommodations, and specially designed development programs, our memory-care experts ensure that residents get the support they need. This allows our seniors struggling with memory conditions & other cognitive issues to not only remain safe & secure but also potentially improve their condition.

Memory problems can cause a great deal of anxiety. To help alleviate this anxiety, accommodations in our memory-care facility are specially designed to make navigation and other everyday tasks simple, straightforward, and predictable. This is done through clear visual contrasts, logical room arrangement, and the overall layout of our community. Almost everything is specifically designed to accommodate people with Alzheimer’s & other memory conditions. Residents in our memory-care program practice daily routines designed to reduce stress, promote cognitive health, and improve the overall quality of life.

Memory care at Village Park offers therapeutic programs designed to help residents manage dementia-related symptoms & behaviors. Our trained, attentive staff members provide the direction & care that people experiencing cognitive issues require, establishing productive relationships that help them make the most of their circumstances. Although our memory-care program is located in a dedicated unit of our facilities, we facilitate social interaction among residents to foster cognitive health & everyday enjoyment.

While there’s not yet a cure for Alzheimer’s and other age-related memory diseases, memory care programs have been known to help seniors improve or maintain mental function. Furthermore, they help people who are suffering from cognitive decline to cultivate skills & systems to manage their situation. At the very least, memory care offers older adults with dementia a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment to spend their golden years in, providing peace-of-mind to residents & their families.

In addition to our memory-care program, our residents have access to several other health, wellness, and social activities.
